I don't know how many times I've explained that when I was little there were exceptionally civilised spacing squares marked between parallel parking spaces so you couldn't be boxed into a spot. No one, not even people old enough to be driving in the late 60s and early 70s in my home town, remembered them. Someone just posted a bunch of shoebox pictures in a nostalgia FB group and finally, proof that I didn't imagine them. You have no idea how vindicated I feel right now.
