OK. I have radiant heat in my apartment and I sleep in a loft bed. The plus side of the radiant heat is cozy warm floors when the heat is on. The downside of the loft bed is it can be excessively warm when the heat has been on for any length of time. So, in general, I turn the heat on for a few minutes in the morning to make the floors warm by the time I get out of the shower and then turn it off before I leave. The problem with this is the floor is still cold first thing in the morning and if I forget it is unbearably warm in the bed and my sleep suffers. Solution: I just bought and installed a programmable thermostat so I can have warm feet in the morning without having to think about it.
