Today, since midnight, GothicBC has had 5682 hits and served up over 60 MB of files. No wonder my server was so brutally slow today. That's just today. That's lunacy. If it gets much more popular I won't be able to afford it!
what about asking for donations to maintain the page? You can count on me for one. I am sure otherws would be willing to donate as well. Purhaps have a link with a little list of donars?
You could always try that donate a buck thing via amazon or paypal to help with the server costs either that or find cheap hosting, mine is only $10 USD a month.
Yeah, but what is your bandwidth allocation? I host on my own machine so my hosting cost is theoretically nil, but I'm only allowed so much traffic on my connection. That and "the box" is getting hammered. I need a hardware upgrade to keep up. This weekend I am going to dump another 256 MB of RAM in which will help a little. What I need is a whole bunch of more-bigger-faster.
