Spent the morning fixing this poor, old cuckoo clock that used to be my grandmother's. My brother disassembled, cleaned and rebuilt the works and so did I maybe 10 years after him because it would get broken from my grandmother moving the hands to make it cuckoo for all her grandkids. The fabric on the whistle wore out and my last repair didn't last (so it's just been a "koo" clock for a while). My Ex broke the leaf off the bottom that's being re-glued because her repair from ~20 years ago just fell apart as I was disassembling it to fix one of the chains that one of the cats yanked out. All the care that has gone into this thing and in time it won't mean a thing to anyone. via Instagram
