So here is what the wood in the previous post was for: cuckoo clock cat proofing. They yanked one of chains out as kittens. And not just in a simple way. They stretched the chain and broke it into a million loose links. It was such a big and tedious job to put it back together that I procrastinated on doing it for four years. Which in turn was why the clock needed the thorough cleaning and other work I did recently. Not running for four years was not good for it. Since I fixed the clock I've been using a cardboard box that a tube of craft foam came in for this purpose. This is nicer. I haven't decided if I will stain it to match the bookshelf or paint it to match the clock. Either way, that's a project for another Sunday. via Instagram
