Gee, looks like people who do what I do are having a tough time all over. I ain't surprised! Nonetheless I have another interview at HSBC tomorrow morning. I'll find out later today if it is simply a "meet the staff (so we can tell if they hate you)" second interview or whether they are going to table an offer.

The wireless place isn't going to happen. Turns out they are more confused than the funeral home. I'm still pushing for Telus, but they are moving too slowly and are likely not going to come through in time. No matter, as long as I can get some money in my pocket to get by on I can sort the rest out later.

Interestingly enough, this is my horoscope for tomorrow:
Although you are not getting there in the style you once envisioned, you are moving ever closer to your goal. So rather than cursing the darkness, perhaps you need to keep your eye trained on that single candle you lit a long time ago and realize that the little frustrations that are getting under your skin are really blessings. Just as the man with a sink full of dirty dishes can lament the task before him or take a few moments to be thankful for his food, you can deal with the byproducts of your luck quite easily. So consider all angles.
So, yeah. It ain't perfect, but I'm still facing in the right direction.

NBC Notes
My NBC notes from basic training.
I was scrounging around for an article I wanted to read and came across my old notebooks from basic training. I was, without a doubt, so not suited to being a soldier as these pages of my chemical warfare notes will attest.

Note the peace doodle and the "Yeah right" comment about the filter's effectiveness, not to mention how enthralled I obviously was with the details of what was effectively a useless rubber suit.

Hehe! I found my collection of comics clipped from various newspapers and magazines. I think I'll post them with my entries until I run out. There are a lot of them so that'll be long way off!

Here is the first. One of my all-time favourites (the link will open a new window).

I have another interview with HSBC tomorrow morning. This time meeting with the MIS and head of their development division. This'll be the technical interview. I wonder what they will hit me with. Not that it matters. I'm good at what I do and it isn't hard to show that. Things continue to slide slowly forward...

Or perhaps the Daleks... something like that anyway.

I was having a conversation with Evilyn the other day about longevity and the potential for human immortality. I was talking about the stem cell research being done to repair damaged brain and spinal tissue potentially being perfected and used in conjunction with human cloning to place old brains in cloned bodies. Well, Evilyn managed to find this article today that adds a whole new aspect of day-after-tomorrow technology to the discussion.
