Ugh. The head-cold I've had now for a week, while subsiding, still has me feeling off. It's like I am not quite awake and nothing I can do will completely wake me up. I've got the inspiration to do things but can only muster the energy with effort. I feel rather like it is perpetually 10:30 a.m. and someone has secretly put decaf in the office coffee machine.

I just installed a ceiling fan. I didn't use any duct-tape. I feel handy.

This is a Sunday afternoon, looking north along University Place from 10th Street. University Place was closed off between Washington Square and Union Square for this. Along the street were all sorts of tents selling the usual sort of assortments of jewelry, t-shirts, hand-crafted whatnots and food vendors. I got the impression that most of the people, like us at this point, had just wandered out of their apartments in the neighbourhood and decided to take a look. There are 8 million people in New York City, 1.5 million on the island of Manhattan alone.
