Yesterday I went out with Elaine and her mom to a fashion show at the Delta museum annex, "From Hoops to Bell Bottoms", put on by the Canadiana Costume Society. My camera batteries failed me after the 1930's...

My Family

I just found out today that my sister broke her back motocrossing. Not a serious break-- basically she fell on her ass (*hard*) and crunched a wedge out her T12 vertebra (which is the lowest of the Thoracic vertebrae, just above the Lumbar curve, a.k.a, the small of the back). This puts my sister in good company with my Aunt Bertine, who broke her back working on the log booms, and my mother who broke her back falling down the basement stairs at a cousin's house.

Remember on "Cheers" how the character Woody would tell stories about his family's injuries, which were mostly farming accidents? I could do the same thing, just exchange "forest industry" for "farming".
