I got asked today "if it would be a problem" to fly to Vernon for a software demo. Yes, it is a fucking problem. Spending eight hours of my life travelling on wingèd tin-cans one step removed from Mexican buses with with old-women holding chickens sitting in the back, just to attend a four-hour demo for software I don't give a shit about? I think not. If I don't give a flying fuck, I'm not fucking flying, thank-you-very-much.

Where just looking out the window is entertaining:

Yesterday we had mounted police presiding over a protest of Mayan oppression by the Mexican government (why such a protest would be happening at the corner of Bute and Georgia in Vancouver, Canada escapes me).

And today we had a legless man getting pulled up the hill by a bug.

Not even David Lynch could make this stuff up. Behold some of the wonders captured through the panes of my apartment windows (each will open in a new window): death, destruction, construction, monks, mounties, marathons, fake-marathons, photographers, drunks, druggies, traffic jams, mass stupidity, art, history, the moon, stars, stars again, a star's double, sparks, fireworks, fire, water, rain-makers, and lightning.
