This guy was especially amusing since he stopped to take his photo while the guy at the other end of the banner kept walking.

The poor soul in the Purdy's hedgehog costume could barely walk. Less than a third of the way into the parade and they had fallen waaay behind the rest of the Purdy's people. That red you see is the group behind, held up by the pace of the hedgehog.

This person walked past us on the sidewalk just before the parade started and then returned in the parade. Welcome to Vancouver, where people just show up dressed as space-men and randomly join a Santa Claus Parade :-)
