Tweaked some of the details last night. I'm going to stop poking at the grisaille and move on to colour today. Yes, my previous post was a clue about what I have in mind. It's an experiment, so it could go south, and OMFG are things FUBAR to the south these days... #art #painting #acrylicpainting

Literal first blush of colour. I'm working from a black and white reference, so I'm making my own choices here. And despite the impression this first layer might give, mimesis is not my goal. I learned a bit about doing glazes in acrylic with my last painting. I'm using a new(ish) acrylic medium from Windsor & Newton that isn't cloudy and doesn't distort the colour. It's amazing, but new enough that there are next to no examples out there of people using it. This is an oil-ish approach, but with the rapid drying of acrylic, so it's neither and both. #art #painting #acrylicpainting
