I've just caught up on Wednesday season 2 and was thinking about this. Wednesday is afflicted with the ghost of the principal from season 1 as her spirit guide and Wednesday protests that she thought spirit guides had to be relatives. Principal Weems explains that they are 39th cousins twice removed. That means they share a great × 38 and a great × 40 grandparent, which would put the common ancestor about 1,200 years ago. Now here's the thing that crossed my mind: the time to most recent common ancestor for all European descended people is about 1,000 years. If you have at least one European in your ancestry we are certainly as closely related, if not closer. Who shall I haunt?
