It's not perfect, but I think it is time to accept that the ear is as good as it needs to be. Mimesis is not the end game. I can use a camera for that. I'm still looking for a place somewhere between idealised Ukrainian icons, Fayum mummy portraits, Jacob Huysmans, Chuck Close, and Willem de Kooning where I can sit down and have a drink. #acrylicpainting #acrylic #painting
