Today has turned out to be a pretty good day. I was a bit scatter-brained this morning at got off to a pretty late start. I can't believe it's May already.

Despite being scatter-brained otherwise, I remembered to do a silly little good-luck ritual that an English friend taught me years ago first thing this morning. So, according to the superstition involved I'm now heading in to a lucky month for having remembered to do this.

It's so silly it has to be English... If the first thing you say after you wake up on the first of the month is "rabbits, rabbits" you'll have good luck for the whole month. It is surprisingly difficult to remember to do. Usually the first thing out of my mouth is something more like "Oh, crap!" [if I've hit the snooze bar one too many times] or "shut up" [while reaching for the snooze bar].

Those brits sure are weird, I am just amazed you managed to do it. My first words are usually, "What? What in the world are you doing awake at this hour???"

Heh. I am, almost without fail, the last one to bed and the first one up around here. I'm a six-hour person in a house of 8-10 hour people...
