Well, thanks to [livejournal.com profile] sleeplessknight I just discovered that there is a corresponding close tag to <lj-cut>

This text is inside the LJ-cut

Allowing text after the closing tag (</lj-cut>) to display.

And experimenting with the concept futher it turns out that multiple cut tags work.

Neat ,huh?

I'm surprised you didn't notice that when you were looking at the LJ specific codes for [livejournal.com profile] soandso and the tag in the first place?

I think the closing tag is new-ish. When I first started using lj-cut there was no closing part, you just used it and everything past <lj-cut> was cut off (as the tag name implies). I didn't know they further enhanced it until I saw how Mike used it.

Hah! I guess I just fluked out with what little html knowledge that I have when I closed the lj-cut! *^_^*

On the other hand, I learned something new today thanks to you too [livejournal.com profile] mbarrick! ^_~ I had no idea how to do that until I read the source for linking directly to an lj user! ^_^
