OK. This is weird. I'm on hold with Telus and listening to an elevator music piano rendition of "Just Like Heaven" by The Cure

LOL

You must have chosen the "Alter-Native" option... was that #2 or #3?

That's what makes it wierd. I'm not on the main system and never got a choice. I've been on hold on and off for quite a while and the rest of the music has been the usual stuff, some old jazz standards and the like, and right now I've got "For Your Eyes Only". The Cure was just kind of tossed in there.

I HAVE heard that too whilst on hold!!
The oddest thing was walking through K mart (when it existed) and hearing Friday Im in Love also by the Cure in perect elevator fasion. It totally tripped me out.

actually, either there is a goth hidden away at the pathmark near my apartment or someone likes me... whenever i come in there's always the best music playing- usually 80's new wave, which always makes me very happy... even heard "tainted love" a few weeks ago and amused the locals by singing as i shopped... lol! muzak is always a bit creepy tho'- occasionally it even sounds *good*...!

I have an order form on the dust sleeve of my "Are We Not Men?" album that lists that Musak tape amongst the other Devo merchandise. Somehow I don't think the pricing would be valid anymore ;-)

Up until just four years ago I used to have a Tiajuana Brass 8-track kicking around. My old amp that I got for $5 at VV Boutique had an 8-track player built in (thus the cheap price - it was a perfectly good 50-watt amp/tuner unit but was "unsellable" because of the 8-track). Just because I could, I would make the occassional run down to the skid-row pawn-shops and pick up absurd 8-tracks for, litterally, nickles and dimes.

alice cooper - "goes to hell"
t. rex - "electric warrior"
ted nugent - "scream dream"...

another friend of mine had frank zappa - "studio tan"...ha ha...

Hmmm. I have the "New Traditionalists" album, perhaps I've gotten my albums confused.

My best 8-track was The Village People, "Go West". It had "In the Navy" on it and changed tracks right in the middle of the song. Absolutely classic.
