This applies to credit unions as well. The credit union across the street (in the "waffle building") is having some kind of lame promotion and for the past hour I have been subjected to "classic rock" from 1960's playing at a volume louder than I usually play my own music in my office. This wouldn't be quite so henious if this music was canned, but it's live and really bad. Looking down all I can see of the guitarist/vocalist is his glaring bald spot. Right now there are two 40-something ageing rock-star wannabes playing, I kid you not, "Play that Funky Music White Boy".

Please.

hehehe, I was wondering what was going on. I didn't listen to much of the music because I was busy staring at the beautiful, young, immaculately dressed woman born with only one arm.

Heh, every year in our area they have "Granville Days" (at least, I think that's what it's called) during some weekend in the summer months. Basically, it's an excuse for people to abandon any sense of pride as they a) get their face painted, or b) stroll around with some questionable "balloon art".

The only really memorable aspect of it for me is the lame band that plays every year on the corner of 11th and Granville. While on our way to Starbucks for our morning coffee we are subjected to *heavy metal* being played by two guys: one with a keyboard, and one with a guitar. It's incredibly funny, as the guitar player has all the coliseum rock moves down...

The only thing that would improve it is if they brought a smoke machine ;-)
