Bad Timing

OK, mystery solved as to why the server didn't come back up: bad timing. The power came back up between when the UPS software started putting the server in "Hibernate" mode, but before it actually finished. So the damn thing never completely powered down. There is about a 2-minute window for this to happen. Pheh. I'm not going to spend any time looking for a way out on this one - I should have a new server by next weekend if all goes well.
