Actually creative people do not use the phrase, "think outside the box." Anyone who seriously uses this phrase is almost certainly incapable of doing what the phrase is supposed to mean.

Truer words were never spoken.

Often "think outside the box" means, to most "don't think too hard, kids."

Pfft. There's a phrase destined to be exploited by "inspirational" poster makers.

isn't it funny whenever they say that at work they just regurgitate everything you are already doing...and if you suggest something radical enough to be outside of whatever "box" there supposedly is it never gets considered anyways...i hate buzzwords, especially "proactive"...another one used by people who have no foresight whatsoever...

Can we still think outside the box if we leverage our synergy in a proactive client-focused team-oriented effort?

I think the problem with 'think outside the box' is that its a subtle way to remind you that you are in one. I think outside the box all the time..while at work I think about not being at work. You can THINK outside the box ...but god forbid you actually DO something outside the box.
