What's my Motivation?

I am annoyed today. I'm annoyed that I am sitting here working myself out of a job when, if this craptastic company hadn't bought my previous employer, I would be in New York right now with valerian. I postponed the trip because at the point when I could have booked it I wasn't sure if I was going to have a job at this point. Now that I have my working notice and severance I was OK with having the trip postponed and simply going another time -- right up until this past Saturday when I started seeing pictures of "The Gates" in Central Park.

"The Gates" is a Christo installation of 16' high orange square arches with orange fabric hanging down to the 7' level spaced along every single one of Central Park's 23 miles of pathway. If we had travelled as planned Elaine and I could be walking under these right now. The old owner used to have a picture of "Surrounded Islands" hanging in the office, the new owner is an artless bludge from Vernon whose only comment on the art in my office was, "Classy."

I fucking hate this place.
