On a bit of a whim I fired off a résumé to a "Développeur Lotus Notes" position in Montréal. Mon français est le crap absolue, mais quel le fucque, hein? Montréal is a cool place and NYC is within striking distance (5 hour drive) for the occasional weekend outing. Worth a shot, anyway.

semi-intelligent americans who've had exposure to several foreign languages, albeit limited exposure.

i can piece a lot together, given enough time. that, and i make up words and languages for games. i'm not your normal american.

No offense intended. That was a joke, albeit a very Canadian one. Elaine and I just has a huge laugh over it. I swear, if I go to Quebec, I'm getting that put on a T-shirt. Actually come to think of it, it would probably go over well in France, too.

If I hadn't moved here from Ottawa in '94, I would've been Montreal ... very cool city.
