I added my Artist's Bio to the site tonight. I have to force myself to stop tweaking the text now. I never much liked the first draft and putting it on the new website had me looking at it fresh, adding new material, fixing grammatical errors, and then rewording chunks of it. Writing about oneself in the third-person seems inherently pretentious and embarrassing to me, so I find it hard to not be overly critical of the bio. It's better than the version I started with three hours ago, but I doubt I'll ever be really happy with it. Time to quit and get some sleep.

Yes - I had to do the same for my website update -

But a "capability statement" needs to be written in third person
because as pretentious as it sounds - people don't beleive you if you say it in first person

If it's any consolation, I still hate mine. I have never been confortable talking about my work (or myself for that matter).

It seems like a combination of bio and statement - is that intentional? Do you have a separate Artist's Statement?

I like it; my only constructive criticism is that you don't need "the ëven"in "Even well before his formal university education," and in the next sentence, "for example"needs a comma after it.

Nice work!

Thanks for the useful critque, I was working on it well beyond the point where one becomes blind to things like missing commas.

Yes, for now it really is a combination bio and statement. It's a "better than nothing document" as I refine a more professional image.

And as a matter of curiosity, do I know you IRL?
