More drawings to do today. Hopefully I can get most of the line drawings done.

Tonight I'll be setting up the photo booth at Sanctuary again. I'd love to get out today with my camera because the light is really nice today, but that isn't going to happen because there is only so much time. At least I'll get to try out some portrait shots with the old lens at Sanctuary.

I'm dying to get back to my Red Chair Project. There are three images from the first set of photographs that I still want to paint and I haven't done anything since I got the job in Port Moody six months ago. I need my hours to change at that job before the commuting kills me. I'm giving it until the end of June for something concrete to happen with that before I give up and move on. I can't keep this five-days-a-week commuting up for much longer and stay sane. No matter what kind of day I might have had at work I come home grumpy and wiped-out simply from the hour on transit. By the time I've shaken the ick of that off and feel even the slightest bit creative I have next to no time to actually do anything before I have to force myself to try and sleep so I am able to get up on time to do the whole miserable routine again.

I'll bring the silver backdrop again ... and I have a good idea how we can make the photo area way more noticeable and central. I'll also be packing some extra power cables and such so we can manipulate the lighting in the area where you are more suitably, plus I'll be down there WAY earlier this time around to set things up proper. I have a friend filming some stuff in the club before we open for a short movie he's doing, and I'll be down there from 7:30 PM to set him up as well.

Tonight is going to be gong-show-a-riffic .....

LOL, I just responded in [livejournal.com profile] gothicbc about the same stuff. I'll be bringing a splitter that will solve the electrical problem.

I'll try to be there a little before doors at 9:00 to get set up.

Wow, has it really been that long since you started the job in Port Moody? I didn't realize...

What's your ideal schedule, anyhow?

Yup, I started in December.

My ideal schedule is no schedule. I've done that before - self employment, working when and how it suited me. I had clients as far away as Newfoundland so some days I would have to get up at 4 a.m. to make a teleconference that was 8:30 their time. Some days I would be pushing a deadline and work until 4 a.m.. Sometimes I wouldn't leave the apartment for a week other than to check the mail. Unfortunately living like that also means the income is as just as unstable. What I averaged was liveable, but it came in fits and spurts. It all went to hell when the tech market crashed (I had a make-it or break-it deal lined up with a company whose stock went down by 60% the week the deal was going to close).

I'm pushing for a three day week with Port Moody. It would be just enough money to keep the bills paid and leave me the other four days a week to help build Elaine's business and my own business without having to deal with loans. In a few years I should be able to bail on the "day job" again.
