We've had 3 different photographers so far. Rod is busy in the film industry and has some deals going on. what we have found is it's about comfort level. ultimately a woman photographer for a fetish night would kick ass. Having said that, everyone knows Michael and the deal. It's almost a no brainer.
People are comfortable getting sexy infront of Michael's camera and the end result is fun, flamboyant and sexy. We had a little meeting about it and decided Michael was our guy if he would be so kind. I was going to give you a call but realized I lost your number. Glad to have you there!
Yeah, I actually worked with Rod & his wife many years ago on a teeny little indie project for a friend who was making a horror short. When I bumped into him again at one of the parties at the Waldorf it took quite a bit of brain-wracking to remember where we'd met before!
You don't have to extol Mike's virtues to -me-!!! I am well aware of all his strengths - it's the reason he was our number one guy for photos when we first began Sin City and for all the years since. And for sure people have gotten very comfortable with him and his camera and know Michael well from being exposed to him as the regular photographer at Sin City for 5 years now.
Is this a one-off kind of thing or is the idea to make him your regular photographer for your events from here on in?
Hmm, discussing the future use of a photographer on his site feels strange. But I will say many see him as a fetish community photographer. Cirque de Sade: One never knows what will happen. Who's jumping out of boxes? who's naked on the big screens? Where will it be? What is that DJ Wearing?
Heck, maybe we will have a booth where people can take their own pictures and a place online where they can send some to us if they want. In this instance we could offer a pro 'press' style photographer within that booth too - or not.

Date: 2006-09-04 09:02 am (UTC)I had a blast tonight. It was a bit on the slow side and I drank up all my profits from Richards, but I'd be more than happy to come regularly.
