Some of you may remember my post from last spring making fun of the use of "anytime" instead of "any time" on official signage at the Granville SkyTrain station.

Either the proofing skills in the signage department at Translink have deteriorated even further or they are very cleverly getting a jump on global warming:

Note the large lake where Pitt Meadows and Maple Ridge should be.

Not only did this clear the desk of whoever produced it, a manager must have signed off on this, it went to print, a proof would have been returned and signed off, it was then printed, received, distributed, and installed with *no one noticing*.

In addition to the geographic error, the line for the 145 SFU run from Production Way/University Station and the 97-B Line from Lougheed Station are also missing.

I approve of this error. As someone who spent 20 years there, let the fuckin' Ridge drown!

Didn't you hear?

We're flooding Pitt Meadows for the 2010 Olympics. Nobody could get there anyway...

As a graphic designer, I find this particularly amusing. I can't even fathom how this could happen, but the fact that it got all the way through production, without being noticed, is pretty awesome.

It looks like an old map.

Goodness knows there could not have been a Pitt Meadows AND Expo 86 AT THE SAME TIME, now can there? Come on now, use your laws of proportionality to douchebags running world-sized events. :P

Just wait, for the 2010 Olympics, there will be no New Westminster.

Oh man... I know at work we get REALLY busy sometimes and little things will fall through that we miss, but then sometimes our clients will miss it when they proof it... the printers will miss it too... and whoops, we've got an expensive mistake (well, our client does...) .... BUT THIS IS JUST RIDICULOUS!!

(i just read your anytime post... that's another good one!)

My favourite line is on the warnings on the sheet above the opposite door.

This line is the last warning.

"Never leave a train outside a station (even if stopped) unless directed to by Translink Staff"

Ok I guess they must have a problem with people trying to leave moving trains outside the stations or something.

Somehow it seems odd that Translink Staff would direct people to leave a moving train outside of a station but apparently it's OK to leave a moving train if they tell you to.

Go figure.

i once had to leave the train outside main steet station...thank god the train was stopped at the time...don't know if i'd have been quite as cooperative if it was still moving...even if they gave me the green light...

I watched a crack-whore bail out of a window on the Hastings Express while it was in motion on my trip home from SFU years ago.

The bus was not moving quickly. She landed on her feet and ran off, clearly unharmed.

It always baffles me when I see mistakes like that. Surely enough people should have looked at the damn thing before it went to print. Amazing.
