It's Hump Day

I feel like that old Loverboy song, "Everybody's Working for the Weekend" - not that I have anything exciting planned. Normally long weekends are great because one doesn't have to get up early Monday morning, making copious drinking at Sanctuary much easier to deal with. This weekend, however, the club is being taken over by the Brit-pop crowd for a scooter/Mod event. I may go to that just for the hell of it, although there is some history there. I used to go with this girl, Simone, who was/is heavily involved in that scene and as it turns out the promoter for this Sunday night's event is the girl who was Simone's roommate when we were dating. That was years ago, though. Further to that, Simone used to hang around with Brenda and Steve at the Old Town café back in Victoria in the 80's. If I remember right Brenda and Simone didn't part on good terms - some boy thing, I can't remember just who fooled around with whose boy, though, or even if that was exactly it. I didn't know Simone's old roommate was the promoter (and it is bugging me that I can't remember her name right now, something beginning with a "J"...
) until last Sunday when it came up while chatting with Louise. What it all goes to show is precisely why Vancouver is starting to feel too small.
I dunno, though. It might be fun to run into Simone - it has been... Oh, God.. 9 years. Crap. Now I just feel ancient
