"Menaced by a raging inferno, Michael Barrick expressed the highest ideals of geekdom by posting the fact in his LiveJournal - let's all give it up for our dedicated computer programmers folks!"
so i take it things weren't too serious? they didn't turn on the sprinklers, did they? *shudders at the thought*
Perphaps instead of , as the pther commentor mention, showing your true geekiness and posting about it you shpuld have left the building.
actually i was sitting here thinking how funny the visual i had was, of you hearing the fire alarm going off and deciding to post on LJ about it. heheheheh
Heh. It makes more sense when you know how fire alarms work in skyscrapers. Generally there are three levels of alarm. The first level means the people on the floor with the fire and the floors immediately above and below should leave. The second level means everyone should leave. The third level means "get the fuck out now!"
The alarm was ringing at the first level and the fire was several floors up at the point where I posted. When the alarm escalated to the second level, I went outside and had a smoke with everybody else.
FIRE???
Well, at least you're calm. Hopefully this is your work building and not your home!!!
