Productive?

Well, I suppose I'm feeling better today. It's hard to tell how much is recovery and how much is the excessive amount of decongestants. I'm rather pleased with what I've accomplished today, which is finishing writing controls for embedded browser for a Lotus Notes based intranet (you can all say "huh?" now). It's actually pretty cool.

So as my health returns so too my sarcasm. So here is an observation I have made based on my years of higher education and my years of drinking:

What is the difference between an ordinary drunk and a drunk academic?

drunk: I lurvs youse guys.
drunk academic: I lurvs youse guys because...

A friend of mine once yelled at me in a drunken state, "Jeez!! Yer the only guy on the planet that gets smarter when he's drunk!!" (It's not true, Ken. There are others...)

It's true! I am a cheeky bastard. I'm also glad Ken was wrong and it isn't just me.

Another fine quote from Ken, overheard by me whilst having my head stitched:

Ken: [playing in wheelchair] vrooom! brrrrrr! screeee!
Female voice (probably nurse): Ohmygod! Are you alright!
Ken: Oh, fuck yea! Ish muh buddy's blood.

(sometimes I'm not so smart when I'm drunk)
