I barely made it into work on time for our Thursday morning meeting today. I got to bed late and didn't (couldn't) get to sleep right away. Getting up this morning was brutal. Given that I don't want to be sleepy when I'm out with Ivana tomorrow night I'll be getting to bed early tonight. Looks like I am going to miss Michelle's night at the Element again. I should make it out Saturday for Kim's night, though. Then I can get some pictures of the wax museum on crack decor.

In other news I got some painting done last night in amongst doing all those mundane things like dishes and laundry. Nicole is now out of the "this painting sucks" phase. I can't quite do justice to her eyes, but at least it isn't total shit now. Maybe I'll post another in-progress shot when I get home.

The following is an excerpt from an e-mail I sent at work this morning to a project manager, "If anyone whines remind them that this is a pilot and we need to ensure the data we collect is controlled and consistent."

Apparently "whine" was too sarcastic. Someone whined about it.

Yeah. I love my job.

So here I sit, having finished my mind-numbing project du jour ahead of schedule and killing time until I can safely bail on this place. My big effort at the moment is to keep from clenching my jaw so I don't get a headache and reminding myself that this is a means to an end. I'm going to get out of debt. Remember that episode of the Simpsons where Homer paid off all his debts and took his dream job in the bowling alley? Yeah, that works for me. I hope I don't go insane before I get there.

Some idiot in California mailed me a virus amateurishly disguised as a zip file of photos for the Gothic BC site. This is what I have to contend with. Fortunately I'm not an idiot. But really, this is the kind of thing I was bitching about the other day. Somebody tell me again why I should bother?

Fer fuck's sake. In addition to the lame-o virus thing I noticed a crapload of (failed) DoS attacks against my webserver. Sorry, script-kiddies, if you want to find a vulnerable webserver, go attack a bank.
