Black Thursday

Well, I've posted a few rants about government inefficiency and waste over the years (usually around tax time). I've been of the opinion for years that altogether too much money is absolutely wasted on fat-assed civil "servants" (what a misnomer!). Well, today the provincial government is axing thousands of them. Over 11,000 - about 1 in 3 provincial employees - are slated for pink slips over the next three years and the first lot go today. It's about time.

Today, since midnight, GothicBC has had 5682 hits and served up over 60 MB of files. No wonder my server was so brutally slow today. That's just today. That's lunacy. If it gets much more popular I won't be able to afford it!
