Fun at Sin City

We were off to Sin City as usual last night, for the usual picture-taking and for valerian to show off her new corset. We arrived around 10:30 and left early-ish at around 1:15. For the time we were there it seemed to me to be better than it has been in the past few months. The obnoxious, meat-head & stripper contingent that likes to block the bar and the photo area weren't around-- and that in itself is enough to improve the vibe from my point of view. But there also seemed to be more people actually dressed up (as opposed to simply not dressed at all). It remains a shame that the balcony is still a no-drinking area thanks to the city's draconian no-fun policies.

Tangentially to that note, there were fireworks at Canada Place again last night. Another cruise ship departure.

End of a very long chapter in my life

I owned this car for 4948 days. In that time I put 99,019 Km on it. Over the course of the last 15 years, I would have spent over three complete months in this car. This car has been with me almost the entire time I've lived in Vancouver. It's outlasted a number of relationships including two engagements (one of which proceeded all the way through to a divorce). I've brought home 5 cats with this car. It's carried me to funerals, the hospital, weddings, festivals, and exotic places like Drumheller. I used to drive this car to the Twilight Zone, the Town Pump, Graceland, and other things all long gone. The man (my father) who helped me buy it and who helped me redo the now dilapidated upholstery died over ten years ago. I have so much history with this car that I could go on for volumes.
