You know the LED ice-cubes we got you? They utterly pale in comparison the awesomeness that is the GALACTIKA WC-Sitz. Everyone should have one of these.

They drive around like other people. Most of them don't even know they are idiots.

The Sun Run was this morning (and it was as much fun to wake up to as past years). The genuinely amusing part can be seen above:

Once the runners had all run away, it was time for the spectators to drive away.  Georgia St. is blocked off, of course, so there is a row of traffic cones blocking people from the last half block of Bute St. For some reason one person decided to turn left into the alley leading to Thurlow. Thurlow is one way - leading to Georgia. A parade of stupidity ensued with car-after-car of lost suburban twits (first you've got to wonder about anyone who drives into town early on a Sunday morning to stand in the rain and watch other people run), all turning left down the alley and being sent back by the barricade and police at the far end. The picture doesn't really do it justice because I stood and marvelled at the awesome stupidity for a good ten minutes and only when it started to die-off did I think to grab the camera.

Ever been on a city bus that got lost before? Well, I have now. [livejournal.com profile] valerian and I were returning from some shopping in North Van and, presumably due to an accident on the Stanley Park Causeway, the bus was sent for a lovely Sunday drive through the park. Only the driver didn't know the park and missed the turn for the Georgia St. and ended up on the English Bay side of things  A kind passenger closer to the front of the bus than we were got up and directed the bus driver through West End at the fringe of the park (along the way I saw [livejournal.com profile] langsuir and [livejournal.com profile] saturn13 walking in the park. I waved. A very confused [livejournal.com profile] langsuir waved back. Some other people in the West End gave the bus some rather odd looks as we negotiated side-streets barely wide enough for a car, let alone a city bus, on our way back to Georgia Street.

Not being in a hurry I rather enjoyed the whole thing. It was a nice, totally unexpected, Sunday drive through the park. Shame I didn't have my camera.
