I see stupid people...

They drive around like other people. Most of them don't even know they are idiots.

The Sun Run was this morning (and it was as much fun to wake up to as past years). The genuinely amusing part can be seen above: Once the runners had all run away, it was time for the spectators to drive away.  Georgia St. is blocked off, of course, so there is a row of traffic cones blocking people from the last half block of Bute St. For some reason one person decided to turn left into the alley leading to Thurlow. Thurlow is one way - leading to Georgia. A parade of stupidity ensued with car-after-car of lost suburban twits (first you've got to wonder about anyone who drives into town early on a Sunday morning to stand in the rain and watch other people run), all turning left down the alley and being sent back by the barricade and police at the far end. The picture doesn't really do it justice because I stood and marvelled at the awesome stupidity for a good ten minutes and only when it started to die-off did I think to grab the camera.

Omigod, I should have stayed the night at John's place and just watched the Sun Run follies. That would have been priceless! The parking around Melville and Bute must have been bru-tal.

The other thing that amuses me every year is watching the people running int Fitness World while they watch the runners go by.

i had to cross georgia to get to my bus today and i just missed a lull in the activity and had to wait...funny i was watching channel four who had it live and i saw some people walking by the camera with a baby stroller...i left my house and went straight down jervis and saw the same people walking down georgia...i thought great but just as i got within 20 yards of the corner a whole slew of runners came out of nowhere so i had to wait about 15 minutes for it to clear enough to cross...so i went up to bute and listened to the morons at fitness world yelling into the mike...then i thought how much that must have annoyed you...ha ha...

just break the wall of speakers in front of fitness world...the volume is obnoxious...
