Grr. Unexpected fifth step... Part of the backing form had become delaminated. Time, glue, old encyclopedias, and venerable C-47 clamps to the rescue. This is going to take a while.

That's ½ (⅗?) of a big job done. 1.) getting the saggy old headliner out 1b.) dealing with a huge chunk of the backing having become delaminated 2.) cleaning the backing board 3.) glueing on the new fabric 4.) reinstalling I lost a day to trying to fix the backing. It should look OK, but it's not perfect. At some future point the whole thing should be replaced, but that's not happening soon. I miss my old Wonder Wagon. It was such a beast that when the headliner started sagging in it, it was just a case of "fuсk it" and ripping it out ;-) #mini #r50 #minicooperr50
