A little bit of blue today and now we're at a place where maybe you can see where the two earlier exercises on the right are coming into play. I read a post the other day that painting large is a class issue. It is. In a city where rents are pushing $45/metre I don't have the space to work larger, and my wage as an art gallery technician is chewed up by basics. So I paint on the bags the unaffordable groceries come in. I put fake gold haloes on for an illusion that doesn't even meet Mark Twain's "Gilded Age" crack. I allude to the affluent Leisure Society that was still being promised when I was born and the subcultures that warned about and chose not to participate in the societal change of course with what I can scrape together in the neoconservative, cryptofascist grinding contemporary reality that we got. #process #painting #acrylic #acrylicpainting
