Trying something that's a callback to the version of this from three years ago. I want to keep the right side of his face looking out of focus. But you can't blend metal foil so I pulled out the old tube of cheap gold paint. In the old painting the halo was entirely painted with gold paint and the gilding put on as an experimental afterthought. So same process, but much more intentional this time. #process #painting #acrylic #acrylicpainting
