What happens when a bunch of punks, SCA-types, gamers, goths, Vancouver Club employees, and sundry others gather on the first full day of summer to share meat? I brought along my aging "nerfcam" as it was dubbed last night - a.k.a "the bat cam" - my first digital camera, a now venerable JamC@m2...

Taken with the camera disassembled - just a circut bard with a battery hanging off it, how cyber!

My exact model is not on the market anymore - it has been superceded by the JamC@m3. As digital cameras go they are cheap like borscht and virtually indestructable *but* there is next to no memory in them, the colour sucks, the resolution sucks, and while the version 3 has a flash, mine (v.2) does not and is useless in anything but daylight.

hmm well it still sounds like fun! right now I have a Kodak DX3900 which is pretty good, 3.1 megapixels, can take up to 70 pics. I am always looking for different types of cameras though and that one you have just seemed interesting.

It has its place. Short of running it over or dropping it in a bucket of water it's pretty indestructable (one circut board, no moving parts). I don't worry about it breaking. We were litterally tossing in back and forth at one point. I would *never* do that with my "real" cameras.

I may have to check it out, cause I'm looking for something that I can just throw around and not be paranoid about breaking.

I miss poloroid cameras, and not those stupid joy cams or whathaveyou...

how awesome!

Well, it looks like every single one of you managed to leave by the time I made my late arrival. Sorry to have missed you all!

We had a whistle-punk stationed on the corner to warn us of your arrival and all bid a hasty retreat when he sounded the alarm :-p
