So, the server is down and I'm stuck for work at the moment. I could restart the dead task but the sysadmin wants to track down the cause with IBM (rightly so, last time this particular glitch happened we couldn't figure out what happened because once the dead task was restarted IBM had no way of seeing what had barfed). So here I am, somewhat hooped. Fortunately I have my own development server that I can still use.

I haven't been doing many "meaty" posts lately because I'm actually pretty busy at work with some pretty interesting stuff. At home, well, I've been doing a lot of accounting, work, and tinkering with some glacial progress toward my vision for Gothic BC. I enhanced the performance of the comments feature, but it is painfully clear that I need to throw some more hardware behind this. My server is, politely put, dated. What I desperately need is more raw horsepower and some more disk space - only about $600 worth of goodies, except the word "only" doesn't exactly go with "$600" these days.

I could gripe at length about where the money is going, maybe I will later, just to get it out.

Anyone planning to go to Regenerator next Tuesday? I think I'd like to go take some pictures.
