One of my clients wanted a photogallery so I took the opportunity to play around with chromeless frames. I'm rather pleased with the way it came out. Just click on any of the links in the bulleted list and then navigate around. I've got the popup windows adapting to the size of the image, and with the chromeless windows everything ties together so much better than standard pop-ups.

Of course you can't do chromeless in Netscape, but it all degrades nicely, and the rest of the website degrades gracefully right down to text-only browsers and WAP devices. While at first blush this site seems very simple I've in fact really been been pushing how I can use the technology to get a really solid design under a wide range of condition.

And, as a diversion I whipped this up

wow- i'm pretty impressed. FP and i have a love/hate relationship. the Emilio Moura site is hosted on a FP server, but i'm constantly having to tweak and jigger to get the site to perform the way i want it to. sadly, this site is my main outlet for web design right now (other than work. they silly kniggits suggested it might be time for a another redesign- i told them they could choose between the three database projects i'm currently working on or the new site- i haven't heard anything else about it for a month now)

Thanks

I'm going to have to reduce the portrait-oriented photos a bit more - they don't fit on the screen at 800x600 and some other really, really minor tweaking, but I am pretty happy with it. I'm thinking of doing something similar with the GothicBC site.

Heh, you source code sniffer, you ;-) Yes, I used Front Page, but I'd say 90% of the time I'm using the raw HTML view. Frontpage used to drive me nuts back before M$ bought it and shortly after when you didn't have the option of telling it *not* to "clean up" your code. Now that you can set it leave things alone it's become more useful.

heheh- yeah, i peeked under your skirts. ;}

i do most of my design in dreamweaver now, and then just upload it to the server. i hate getting pages from other people done in word tho'- their tags are horrible!
