So who all is planning to go to the Sanctuary/Organix combo thingy at 23 West this Friday (tomorrow!). I want to go and meet up for food and Guinness at the Irish Heather before hand and then head around the corner. I hope lots of people are into it so that this turns into a regular gothy Friday thing. I could actually make it *out* fairly regularly on Fridays. Forget about "helping out the scene", this is all about me. Help me get a life and see my friends more often!

([livejournal.com profile] goth_posh will get this: "Every individual needs to look out for what is best for him and what is best for the group.")

I just like the music, the clothes, and the nightclubs...

Bien sur. Come as you are. That's the beauty of this, it is a hybrid event. Gothy downstairs, ravey upstairs. My only concern is that the manky Sin City smell will not have cleared from the downstairs...

manky? ew! I've never heard that before.

I THOUGHT Organix was electronica. Why the mix?

This has been done before. Before Organix was a regular night at 23 West they did a couple of one-offs at the Anza Club with basically the same deal: electronica upstairs and gothier stuff downstairs. It worked quite well. It's a fun combination and makes for a better mix of people. In the "prototypes" there was a lot of cross over between the rooms and with 23 West being the way it is expect a lot of the gothier people to be taking smoke breaks upstairs ;)

Mmmm.. not quite! Close though. Organix totally was a regular thing well before we ever did BioOrganica or Chrome. Long before it was Fridays at 23 West, Organix was raging away on Thursdays at the Drink, and even before that on Thursdays when it was Madison's. And I organised those events at 23 West as a spooky electronic night, as opposed to the Organix folks. The first one was ONLY upstairs ... all of it was all mixed together in the main room. It was cool enough and there were so few problems that the ANZA let me use the member lounge downstairs for the second one, Chrome, which was the first time they ever did that. That went off pretty well too. I've thought many times about doing a few more events like that, but closing at 2 am just seems like not quite being worth it. The ANZA calls me every now and then asking when the next party is.... they were pretty cool, eh? This crossover tomorrow should be pretty interesting. Chris hasn't had much success with the other groups which came in and hosted the second room, and is thinking of not bothering if this one doesn't pan out. But there's been a LOT of interest ... there really isn't much to do on a Friday that isn't house or hip hop, let alone anything even remotely 'dark'! Hopefully see lots of folks there....

I must be getting old...

Happy , bouncy , bright and energetic upstairs ,

Dark, gloomy , and depressing downstairs.

Its like a nightclub version of Dantes Devine Comedy
So I gotta try to make it there. This I gotta see.

Do you think the goths will turn the ravers or do you think the ravers will turn the goths?
