Thanksgiving long weekend, Hallowe'en, and daylight savings time ends so there is more dark to enjoy (I swear, I have the opposite of seasonal affected disorder).
Mary conducted a funeral service by
herself that lasted the whole day
and then buried him near Rose.
All this and I get my keys today. I parked in my parking spot this morning and counting the time to stop and chat with Natalie who happened to be just leaving the building on her way to work, it took me all of four minutes to get from the apartment to my desk. That is a commute I can deal with.

...there is more dark to enjoy...

Yes! I completely agree. As soon as dusk arrives, no matter whether I'm weary or not, it's like I can exhale, wake up, and enjoy the darkness.

Morning people mistake us for being lazy. On the contrary, we have as much (if not more) endurance than they. Just because we're up late doesn't mean we're up less time.

Besides, it's easier to move. : )

Night People

I have a standing theory about why there are creative, artsy, "night people". In breif, we are descended from the ones who kept the fire going at night, kept the wolves at bay, watched the stars and invented mathematics, told the best stories, played the music, and hung out in the back of the cave during the day doing all the cool paintings. Like any other social animal there are certain niches that small subsets of the population fill much to the benefit of the species.

I suppose "hypothesis" would be the better word here, since I don't have anything to back it up. I strongly suspect the idea would stand up to academic investigation, thoough.
