Dear Michael:

We are doing a documentary on Goths in Vancouver. We are going to speak to Karen Burda of Langara College because she's written about Gothic and Horror in popular culture.

However, we have no Goths to talk to. This is very short notice, but do you know anyone who may step forward for an interview. We are looking especially for super articulate individuals who take being Goth seriously.

We use humour in our show, but we have no intention being judgmental or making fun of the scene. However, we do have misconceptions and questions.

I was interviewed by Karen for her article. This would be for the programme "Out There". I've called and talked to JJ's co-host Alex and dropped Isaac's, Daevina's (he had a hard time with "Maleficent" lol), and Kim's names and mentioned I've put the word out with some other scenesters. They know I gave out the number so any of you can call directly or go through me, whatever you prefer. From the sounds of it they will be checking out Sanctuary this Sunday as part of their background research.

You want to talk about "supporting the scene"? How about positive exposure on national radio!!

Hmmm. I remeber when Karen interviewed you & I for that article - little while ago! I was wondering if it was ever going to surface. I am *very* busy this month ... but if I can fit this in somewheres, it could definitely be an interesting experience ...

Yeah. My month is pretty nutty for me as well, but my enourmous ego won't let me pass up my fifteen minutes of fame ;-) I pitched you in particular. Give them a call, they are interested in talking to you and Daevina at Skank this Sunday if you give them a go to do so.

They are doing the background research right now. I don't know when the taping would be.

Heh. Amusing stuff. I recall in the interview with Karen a big segment where we discussed the uber-level of gothdom - where people are so heavily enmeshed in goth, they somewhow no longer feel comfortable with the term. Am I goth? I don't frikkin think so. On the other hand, HELL YEAH, I'd have to admit the label fits pretty damn well. Same for Daevina, you, Kim, and all us people who try to actually make something of our professional, creative and artistic desires.
