Interesting that while Bush forgot to mention us in his speech, Bin Laden did not. Also interesting is that this new tape surfaces just a couple days after parliament received a recommendation from a review comittee to withdraw Canadian forces from all overseas operations. Is that 10,000 Km of undefended border making someone nervous?

i hear the ferry terminal and canada place are on the list of places which could be attacked...i say they should just string up a moose or beaver and burn it...no that would be cruel, okay an effigy of a beaver, moose, or the littlest hobo, or gordie howe, wayne gretzky, bryan adams (no they can burn him), rush, or relic...or something else beloved...maybe they'll commandeer a ferry and crash it into the dock, or just pull it away fast and wave a car onto it (wait that's been done)...maybe they can slowly pilot the ferry into the lion's gate bridge, or canada place...then they'd kill two birds with one stone...yep more fear mongering, i wonder how many will make money off of this??? yay for the new world order!!! can't wait to be issued my new identity card, nothing like big brother knowing where you are going and what you are doing...now that spells freedom, liberty and democracy...they are so sly...

Lame targets

Pretty much everything in Vancouver is a lame target. Given the choice of previous targets (economic and milliarty significance, with considerable infrastructue attached - the WTC was a *major* communications hub) I'd bet on infrastructure targets that would do harm to the States. The Peace River dam and Quebec Hydro's dams would mess up power to L.A. and NYC. The oil pipeline would also be a good one, but not as good. It would foul-up the delivery of oil from Alaska to the rest of the States (which, on second thought, would force increaced purchases of Arabian oil...).

Canada Place? Who would really care? And messing up BC Ferries? We have the provincial government for that (wanna buy a used FastCat, cheap?)!

If they actually issue those biometric ID cards I think I'll start looking for a job in New Zealand.

yeh i think they'll have a hard time convincing people that using these cards is a good idea...i think that is exactly the opposite of everything we stand for...welcome to eastern europe twenty years ago...

no kidding how can they consider anything here to be a target??? ha ha...it's so insignificant...hydroelectric would be the way to go...

But I hear it's a great place to live, work, and get some much-needed distance from all this USA bullcrap. *wink*

And, it's safe: Auckland is an equally lame target.
*snigger*
