I just got home from work, but at least this time things are working. Yesterday I worked from 2:30 p.m. until 4:30 a.m.. Then, after what felt like ten minutes sleep I was up to help Natalie move her stuff from Kris' to Ryan's. In keeping with the "nothing is as easy as it is supposed to be" theme of the weekend the elevator was broken in Kris' building so moving Nat out involved several trips up and down five storeys of stairs. By the end my left knee was not happy (it's OK now though). After unloading at Ryan's, Nat, Elaine and I had breakfast at De Dutch (yummy - and much needed, I didn't have dinner yesterday). Then it was back to work to finish beating my head against the AS/400. As previously mentioned, things went much better this time. The person whose unneccessary security restrictions caused this whole problem in the first place was there today and she redeemed herself. With her help and a little tech support from Lotus/IBM the sysadmin and I got all the mission-critical applications up and running again.

My weekend at work, however, was much like my Friday. At this point I am pleased that we managed to get everything back to state it was in Friday. The upgrade still needs to be done, my "accomplishment" after twenty three and a half hours work this weekend was to get absolutely no-where. I did, however, learn a fair bit about administering Domino on an AS/400, and that is a good thing because it makes me all that much more employable in NYC.

Hope you slept in your Superman shirt last night, 'cause it took a man of steel to be able to "keep it together" (ie, your body *and* your wits) this weekend. Despite your mood and physical state, you still managed to help a friend... honey, you are amazing. :)

Love,
Lois Lane

PS: A good thing thing *did* come out of this weekend though, in a way. EasyPark just sent me an email about an available parking space. Yay! That's one less thing to worry about.

Huzzah!

Yay for the parking! That's perfect.

I got sent home from work early today because I was a bit loopy. Unlike everyone else who was there last night I dragged myself in more or less on time.

I'm debating whether I will work on the estimate for the lawyer tonight or just do some drawing. Part of me wants to make money for New York and part of me is just sick of working.

I recommend the drawing. Give yourself a rest, will ya? I think you've earned it.
