Telus has FUBAR'd not only my connection but (according to the service notice) "Port Coquitlam, Coquitlam, Port Moody, New Westminster and parts of Vancouver." I so miss the days when I was connected through a small local provider where I actually knew the back-end techs and, even better, they knew me.

You know those monkeys they use for the Telus Mobility ads? I think they must have them maintaining the network and manning the tech-support lines.

I have ADSL service through SMARTT.COM - and i've been very happy with it (2 static IPs). More expensive than telus though. I think the longest it has been down for me has been less than 10 minutes, and they are quite friendly to talk to as well.

I also have shaw cable internet as a back up, and for those big downloads I use shaw since the ADSL is metered harshly. But I found that shaw (rogers then) was horrible for dealing with tech issues.

good luck

Don't kid yourself. Those monkeys are way too overqualified to work in ISM...

Well .. I think the cheeta is a good animal to represent them
..very fast .. yet only runs a limited amount of time per day...

The monkeys are a good mascot for their CS and Marketing. Pretty - but completely cluess.
