Fuck! The damn plumbers set off the fire alarm again. The receptionist (who can see my building from her desk) phoned down to tell me there were fire trucks in front of the building. I went over to see what was up and the trucks were leaving just as I got there. I'm tired. I'm glad I go on vacation this Saturday.

I'm tired of a lot of things.I'm tired of LJ being the last bastion of what used to be a social life. I'm tired of the construction in the apartment. I'm tired of rebuilding instead of building in general. I'm tired of cringing whenever the phone rings because nine times out of ten it is someone with a problem (at work) or someone wanting to sell me something (at work or at home). I'm tired of dealing with clients and accounting from my defunct business. I'm tired of letting other people's baggage get on my nerves.

Elaine and I are going to have a lovely vacation. I'm going to come back refreshed and inspired.

sing it brother!!!

Yah. LJ is no replacement for interacting with folks in the flesh. Whether it's at clubs, parties, social gatherings, at the gym or what the hell ever, you need it to stay connected with the Real World (tm). Just stayin'at home and making one's contribution to their social scene over the 'net has never cut it for me. I go STIR CRAZY before long!

You guys have a killer trip, K?

I'm tired of a few things, too. Hoarding every dime for this trip has meant not going out, not buying anything but the essentials, etc. on top of all of what you have mentioned. I'm really tired of work - now that there's only a couple of days left, I am suddenly left with more work than I can handle by myself (although I think practically killing myself this morning helped me get on top of some of it). So much for taking it easy and not getting into any new projects before I go away... one thing is for sure, it's making leaving all that much more appealing. I'm tired of doing a job I only meant to do for a year or two, which I've ended up doing for 10 years.

Two more sleeps, thank gawd.

Heheh..and then you'll come back and be tired of New York..tired of the upraised exchange rate, tired of the cockroaches, tired of arrogant jerks, tired of rotting in ariports cause your flight was delayed, tired of getting one flat beer after another on the plane, tired of customs ripping thru your luggage, and tired of sitting on hold with American Express for hours cause someone stole your luggage.

Heh-just had to be Devil's advocate...Have a great trip you two, and get some serious R&R on.
Btw, who's watching the kids when you're gone?
