Times Square. I meant to take a 360° panorama of this but I'd forgotten to recharge my batteries the night before so only got these three shots in before the camera started to die. A little bit of related trivia: the building at the head of the of the square, 1 Times Square, was built between 1903 and 1905 (doesn't look like it anymore, does it?) for the New York Times. The newspaper officially moved into their new offices December 31st, 1904 and marked the occasion with fireworks. That's how the tradition of celebrating was born. Dick Clark, however, wasn't born until November 30th, 1929. |
