i saw him in about 1987 for the rebel yell tour...it was great...billy does put on a great show...the cult opened for him but they were jerks...they would only play songs from "love removal machine"...though they came back around soon after and played their better music...

I'm not sure who is opening, but Steve Stevens is on guitar with him this time around.

Actually I went to see Depeche with [livejournal.com profile] evilyn13 when there were here a couple years ago and it was a lot of fun.

Twister Sister, though... *shudders at the thought*

He was at the Orpheum last year as well with Steven Stevens, he rocked, the sound rocked but the seats sucked ass.
I had front row but you weren't allowed to dance in the aisles so everybody just stood in front of their seats and punched the air.
Now the Commodore, I'd pay big bucks to see him there.

Yeah, the Commodore would be better. It's not really an "Orpheum" show. A couple of the best (and venue appropriate) shows I've seen at the Orpheum were Harry Connick Jr. with a big-band, and Cecila Bartoli singing selected 18th century Italian songs. Two totally different shows, but both were great in their own way.

i saw lenny kravitz there and that was pretty good, but i also saw him in a bar in calgary that fit maybe 200 people and that kicked ass...a show like that i saw at the jubilee in calgary (same as the orpheum) was dave brubeck...that was an excellent venue for such a show...
