I've done a quick sketch of what it must have been like when the oval was open to let light down from the dome and animated it. Some of it speculation, such as the detail in between the floors and whether the main balustrade posts decended through the floor like they clearly did in the stairwell.
that is so cool! gawd i love the building you live in! me and tif haveta come out and vist ya so she can see how luverly it is, and of course, fall madly in love with tharsis and jazz
I didn't exactly spend a lot of time on the drawing, but it gets the idea across.
I saw the exterior elevation blueprints shortly after the fire, but I never thought to ask to see the floor plans. Turns out they are on file with the Vancouver archives... I'm going to see if I can get permission to see them.
