Goddamn Spammers

If you aren't already, I'd suggest to you all to either disallow anonymous posting or at the very least screen all anonymous posts. This morning I got a spam anonymous comment. It read "I've added you to my friends list if you don't mind" with what appeared to be a link to a journal. The link went to a porn site.

To turn on screening:

• Go to http://www.livejournal.com/editinfo.bml
• Scroll down to the "Enable Message Boards" subsection of the "Privacy Options" section.
• Set the options to disallow or at the very least screen anonymous posts.

Oh geez... this is the last place I want to get spam like that from. I'm sure they know it happens but I'm surprised they don't mention it more in order to avoid having it happen.

someone should make it Illegal to spam anyone with porn they didnt ask for. have you ever gotten the phone call with the recorded real estate message? I get that like once a month

We have an "old-fashioned" type answering machine (i.e. an actual machine, not voice mail) and usually don't pick up the phone unless we're actually expecting a call.

I've never gotten a real estate one. Credit cards, long distance providers, Shaw, Pacific Press and others all too much, though.
